Additional Add-on Code Fields

Valant is excited to bring additional functionality to the appointment form on several pages of the EHR. There are new drop-down options next to primary and add-on codes that allow Units, Service Units, and Modifiers be attached to the add on codes. This will allow your practice to add units, service units, and modifiers to add-on codes to charges from the Scheduler, Record Appointments page, Pending Transaction Queue, and the Appointment Requests page. The primary and add-on codes can be expanded and collapsed to reveal units, modifiers, courtesy discount, and discount note fields. Practices with the Pending Transaction Queue will not see the Courtesy Discount and Discount Note Fields. Below is a description of each page that has received the new fields.

Scheduler

To better organize the appointment window the top of the page has been reorganized. The “Start” , “End” and “Category” field  are on the same row. The “Provider” and “Facility” fields are now on the same row. As well as the new primary code, and add-on code fields. The above screenshot is from the scheduler.

Record Appointments

The Primary Code and Add-on code drop-down fields have also been added to the Edit Appointments window that can be found when editing an appointment on the Record Appointments page. Users can access the Record Appointments page by clicking Scheduler | Record Appointments or clicking the Record Appointments button from the Scheduler

Pending Transaction Queue (PTQ)

Practices that use the PTQ can now access the new add-on code fields when editing transactions. Clicking Edit will open the "Edit Transaction" window and reveal the new Primary Code and Add-on code fields.

Appointment Request Queue

When a user accesses the Appointment Request Queue and clicks on a request to edit an appointment request the new fields will be visible.  Allowing the user to add the appointment to the Scheduler with the add-on code and modifiers already attached while editing an appointment request.

Note: There are some areas of the EHR like Mobile Notes and the Create Charges pages where users edit appointments that do not have the new appointment form fields yet. The remaining pages receive the ability to add Units, Service Units, and Modifiers to add-on codes, but currently only the pages above have these fields.
