License Types and Permissions in the Valant EHR

There are four license types that are available in the Valant EHR.

  • Provider: used by providers to document sessions in a patient's chart
  • Staff: used to schedule patient appointments, take payment, check-in patients, etc.
  • Biller: this license type will allow the creation/editing of a charge, the sending of insurance claims, the creation of patient statements, and the creation of day sheets
  • Admin: administrative license used to add, edit, and reassign user licenses

Typical differences between a staff license and a provider license

  • Staff Members do not have their own calendar
  • Staff members do not have access to Mobile Notes
  • Staff members can only inactivate documents if the 'Delete Documents' permission is set for their login
  • Staff members cannot upload clinical notes directly into a patient's chart
