Although it is rather rare, some payors require that the Rendering Provider ID field (24J) be populated on a CMS 1500 Claim form.

To populate the Rendering Provider field (24J):

1. Click on Persons and Institutions | Insurance Companies
2. Select an Insurance Company and click on the  Provider Information sub tab
3. Double click the "Legacy ID" field next to the appropriate provider ID.
4. Enter the provider ID in the "Legacy ID" field.
