Keyboard Shortcuts

The following table outlines some of the basic terminology and functionality differences between a PC and a MAC.

PC Terminology MAC Equivalent
Right Click:  Right Mouse Button Click on an icon Secondary Click:  Hold the Command Key Control key icon + click on the icon.
Cut:  Hold the CTRL Key + X or Right Click + Right Click "Cut" * Cut:  Hold the Command (Control key icon) Key + X
Copy:  Hold the CTRL Key + C or Right Click + Right Click "Copy" * Copy:  Hold the Command (Control key icon) Key + C
Paste:  Hold the CTRL Key + V or Right Click + Right Click "Paste" *  Paste:  Hold the Command (Control key icon) Key + V
Zoom In (In a Web Browser):   Hold the CTRL Key + "+" ** Zoom In (In a Web Browser):   Hold the Command (Control key icon) Key + "+"
Zoom Out (In a Web Browser):   Hold the CTRL Key + "-" ** Zoom Out (In a Web Browser):   Hold the Command (Control key icon) Key + "-"
Scroll Up (In a Web Browser):  Mouse Scroll Wheel away from the user. *** Scroll Up (In a Web Browser):  Click and Hold down on the Scroll Bar.  Move up or down.
Scroll Down (In a Web Browser):  Mouse Scroll Wheel towards the user. **** Scroll Down (In a Web Browser):  Click and Hold down on the Scroll bar.  Move up or down.
Taking a Screen Shot:  Press PrtScn and then CTRL + V in MS Word or Paint Taking a Screen Shot:  Hold the Command Key (Command key icon or ) + Shift + 3.  The file will be saved to the desktop.
Horizontal Scrolling: Shift + Mouse Scroll  Horizontal Scrolling: Use two fingers on the track pad (laptop users only)


* Right Click + Left Click on "xxxx" will also work.

** Hold the CTRL Key + the scrolling the mouse's wheel will zoom in or out.

*** The Up arrow on the keyboard can also be used.

****  The Down arrow on the keyboard can also be used.
